We took the InterCity from Geneva to Zurich. It’s a 2 story train that takes about 2:45 to get there, quite a bit faster than by car. And, you have to see it to believe it – there’s a play room in the train, complete with a dinosaur and  a slide! Yes, you read it, a s-l-i-d-e. It made the trip so easy! I wish they had airplanes like this.

Look what Ilan did on his way to the Zurich zoo. On the plus side, we witnessed a tiger catch and tear apart a cute white rabbit, with pieces of fur flying around. The happy animal chewed on a bloody bone with great delight. A little girl cried crocodile tears.

Went to see “Filthy Talk for Troubled Times” last week. This was a benefit performance at the Lucille Lortel Theatre followed by a nice party at a rooftop loft on the west side overlooking the Hudson. Neil LaBute along with the cast, including Craig Bierko, Alice Eve, Johnny Galecki, Josh Hamilton, Julia Stiles and Justin Long, were all there chatting and having a drink. I exchanged a few words with Julia and a handshake with Neil. We chatted with Robert LuPone for half an hour on a comfortable couch. I remember all these people and they probably don’t remember me, but I am reminded every other day how nice it is to be in New York and be able to cross paths or even have a real conversation with recognizable people.

The play was short and sweet, but a bit dated (it was written twenty years ago). Alice Eve was my favorite.

Saw Fences last night on Broadway with Viola Davis and Denzel Washington, among others. Sitting a row away from us was Jesse Jackson and two rows in front of us, Chris Webber. There were other celebrities that were minor compared to these two, so I won’t mention them.

The show was pretty good, especially if you like human drama. I liked the very clearly played divide between the characters willingly stuck in the past and those unable to move on with the future because of them. I think Denzel did a good job at being a stage actor (unlike other celebrities that failed), but it was a little strange not to have a zoom into his face and amplified sound from most of his movies.
